|Chimney Liner Installations
Atlantic Chimney Inc., servicing the South Shore and Cape Cod, specializes in relining chimneys with damaged or deteriorated clay liners or unlined chimneys. We also offer an alternative to relining called "Thermocrete"; a sprayed-on ceramic sealant.
For our stainless steel relines, we use two quality brands: Best Flex and Forever Flex. There are different alloys and gauges, depending on the application. There is also a "smooth wall" flexible liner that has a 20% added flow capacity. All the stainless steel liners offer a Lifetime warranty.
A less expensive alternative to stainless steel relining is aluminum, which can be used in certain gas appliance installations. Aluminum liners come with a 15-year warranty.
We offer different Levels of inspections:
Level I Inspection:
Required with chimney sweeping; routine evaluations of venting system; replacing an appliance with a similar appliance. Limited to readily accessible portions of the venting system and accessible portions of the connected appliances
Level II Inspection:
Required when a Level I inspection reveals the area for a more detailed inspection. Recommended when: An appliance is being replaced with a "dissimilar type, input rating, or efficiency. Prior to relining a flue, upon the sale or transfer of a property, after an event likely to have caused damage, a fire, operating malfunction, or weather event.
According to the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) 211, "If the flue liner in a chimney has softened, cracked, or otherwise deteriorated so that it no longer has the continued ability to contain the products of combustion (heat, moisture, creosote, and flue gases), it shall either be removed and replaced, repaired or relined with a listed liner system."?
Stainless steel and copper caps carry a lifetime warranty. Caps prevent the entry of rain, snow, animals, and birds. Caps have spark arrestor screens as the primary safety feature that prevents the passage of sparks to the outside atmosphere. In addition, caps can help with wind-related downdraft problems and help protect chimney crowns (top of chimney) and help with "leak problems".
